THE STORY OF THE RAVEN BERRY
Told By: Cherokee Story Teller
ShaunaSay WhiteFeather

Long, long ago when I was but a child, sitting around listening to the stories of my people that had been passed down from generation to generation, this one still blows through my very soul as mighty as the wind itself that blows in a storm raging across the lands..

At times even today, if one catches glimpse of a Raven, one may actually see it holding a ever-so- bright Red Berry in one of its clawed feet.
Be forewarned, this berry is not from this world as we know it and walk in as human beings alive and breathing in. This particular berry can only be plucked from a tree that grows in the spirit realm, by Raven who travels both realms.
The Raven is one of the major gate keepers and protectors of the world as we know it and the spirit world where we all were originally created from and put into this world. He and Owl are partners in this job and work side by side in keeping balance between good and evil, and carrying the human spirit/soul back and forth and where it needs to be where the Creator deems it and for what purpose it was created for.
One other job only Raven was created to do and can do, is to be able to transport the Red Berry that is on a tree in the Spirit Realm to this Realm with the main purpose to give the soul who is to receive it, one last chance to change the soul back to light, before it is totally enveloped into darkness of evil deeds and intentions of the heart.
This only happens when the soul of the one is so far into creating evil and actually doing evil to other souls, with full knowledge of doing so is at risk of what is called Spiritual Death this stage of death is complete and utter obliteration and non-existence of the soul and its creation.
Yes, this is a dark story, but as it was told to me I tell to you and generations after me now. There is a price to pay if you want to intently hurt your fellow living beings whether human or animal.
So think long and hard of what you say or do in your life, because it does effect everything and everyone around you, like a stone thrown into water the ripples continue on and on throughout the entire universe.
