I have noticed on looking around the web a few interesting comments as to the origins of the People behind RedNation, and other genuine Native sites, and wanted to offer clarity on a few points.
I noticed on one site the comment, "The People of RedNation are from Australia"...
Its true, I myself am Australian but I have both Aboriginal and Native American blood as well as a splash of all sorts. RedNation in its infancy was a purely Native American base, HOWEVER the plan was always to expand to all Indigenous peoples. There are elders from various Tribes and Nations within both North and South America as well as Australia, New Guinea and the Solomon Islands mainly comprised of Medicine... Why are we NOT advertising names, mainly by their own request, none are desiring fame or fortune, but moreso, considering the existing prejudices that are yet promoted within so many parts of the world, it is for their peoples safety.
Kill a Chief, another will take their place... Kill the Medicine and you tear the Heart from The People...
The WhiteFeather is now living in Australia, spending time sharing with many of indigenous blood here. And has been formally welcomed and acknowledged after sitting amongst Aboriginal Elders.
Believe me, they were thorough in their investigations of her character and person, and would not speak until they were satisfied with her being true to what she is as a fellow indigenous.
Funnily enough, before being allowed to travel to Australia, as with any person that travels to another country, she had to be fully checked by US and Australian Law Enforcement for her visa and passport papers to be approved, and they both stated and was documented, that she was completely clean and has no bad records of any kind.
Since then, after going through proper channels to actually become a "permanent resident" she was found to be of good standard and character.
So it goes to show if she had been guilty of any wrong doings what-so-ever, she would have never been allowed to leave her country and come to be a part of another country.
I learned a valuable lesson from the Elders here, to go look at the ones who go accusing and pointing "false-fingers" there you will find the ones who are the deceivers and "false tongues"...
Also, I would like to add that a "Indigenous" tradition is that one keeps all the names they wear in life as a sign of respect... So reading name aka name etc is something only a white author could write who obviously knows little of genuine Native Lore.
And there are other cultures who give their children several names, so there is definite cause to shorten them to more simpler names and much abbreviations.
Most people will go by a first name or middle or just initials. Use your intelligent minds, and realize to NOT be so suspicious assuming that someone is going by an "AKA" to be hiding a false identity.
At the end of the day, there will always be those who claim us false, just as many good people have been accused over the years, but we are not in this for recognition or money, we do not charge for anything. There is no fee for wisdom and knowledge and sharing. If we do not share what is actually left, all will be truly lost and that is any culture.
When you read a negative about any site, I suggest that you don't jump to the conclusion they are right, instead take a breath, smudge yourself clean then pray and ask for guidance.
In this trust your heart and the pointers given by The Creator and you may well discover that much of the discussion is only that, words... and they do not affect the truths that are here and on many other good resource sites.
