So many times others and myself have been asked how to tell which Animal Totem relates to them?
As one goes day by day in their everyday activities, the personalties and habits and reactions to multiple situations, very well tell which animal they are closely related to.
As young children, and on into our adulthood of life, we have "watched" the animal kingdoms with great interest indeed!
As children playing games have we not always mimicked the moves and sounds of animals, to which we favoured haven't we?
As adults, we still do so without being aware.. here are just a very few samples..
A woman "sass-sheys" into a room or "slinks" into a room graceful as a cat..
A man shows his temper..does he not "Roar" like a great Lion?
A neighbour being a busy-body stretching their necks to see what is going on in the neighbourhood then becomes a "Long Necked Giraffe" or) "Long Necked Goose"..
A runner that runs as graceful as "A Gazelle"
So when it comes down to the animal spirit that represents us as individuals, it is not that hard to see which one has become part of our make up.
We ALL ARE NOT wolves or eagles or bears, I am sorry. Though these are such noble of nobles there are hundred of thousands of animals, other creatures and even insects that may be what would be our personal Totems without insult or shame.
I will share two of my good friends as samples here:
One has a teeny-tiny ant (Piss-Ant) as his totem that adopted him in a dream vision.
He said it came one day and told him in his vision, how strong ant was, lifting hundreds of times it own body weight. It worked as a team member well, and was a provider for its family. Plus it could also be a ferocious warrior if need be. That the human and ant nation was much the same.
On the funny side of this personal friend, he said he used to hate these creatures! he would kill them with bug spray or smash them as many as he could when he seen them.
He said before he used to get eat-up by them outside and inside his house, or anywhere he went..After he accepted the ant as his totem, he was never bitten or annoyed by them again!
The other friend came laughing their head off one day, saying she has had for over two weeks a cricket singing to her. I told her that a cricket was good luck and a bringer of good news if you hear them singing inside your home.
She proceeded to tell me, that every morning when she woke up and opened her eyes, there was a cricket on the edge of her bed singing. When she moved to get up it vanished and stopped singing till the next morning!
At the end of two weeks, she said she had a dream of a cricket talking to her between singing and chirping like they do in the waking world.
The cricket told her, he brought her news of a "Special Child" to be born to her and this child would be a great healer of peoples of the human nation. But the cricket nation would always give honour to her as a mother blessed and would be one of her Totems if she so wanted.
She said out loud she wished it, and she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy..that boy grew up to be a great surgeon who to this day, is known to have given sight back to the blind by replacing the coronas with new lenses! cataracts removed with greater ease and sight given back where there was none because of diseases that now can be corrected if caught in the early stages.
Just remember, not all will have dreams of their totems coming to them either.. But., don't give up! you will realize yours and make them your own as they will you.. and it will feel as natural and right as rain.
