How to do a House Blessing Ceremony
To begin with, this is a basic ceremony that anyone should be able to do and understand. Keep in mind; this seriously needs to be redone every month. It can take time to do this, because of being so repetitive over all WARNING!!!! DO NOT SKIMP OR HALF DO THIS! It can and will cause serious repercussions both physically and spiritually if you do not take this all seriously and do it with the right attitude.
Things needed to do ceremony with:
ONE ABALONE SEA SHELL or Cured TURTLE SHELL with a small piece of flint to line the bottom of it.
Are usually used or any container than can be held in your hand without you getting burned from the heat of burning sage.
WHITE SAGE: This will be used for Purification of all surrounding areas throughout the entire house, and each individual involved. Most “Smudge Sticks” are wrapped in twine, to do a house blessing and have enough, especially if it is a larger home with two storeys or more and a basement. Separate the smudge stick so that only a few leaves can be used in the shell or container that can take heat.
COOKING OIL: This will be used to mark the doorways and all mirrors, and closets within the house with a sign of a cross, while saying out loud for protection against any and all evil from having access or gateway to cause negative influences.
REGULAR SALT OR SEA SALT: Enough to make a stream of a continuous line of salt as close to the foundation of the house all the way around and across the steps of front and back doorways to your home AFTER THE INSIDE IS COMPLETED FIRST.
NOTE: If you can acquire either CEDAR off of a natural CEDAR tree or CEDAR shavings like you would put in a hamster cage or use for mulching material in a garden/landscaping, this is to be sealed also in a continuous line too. Also, even though weather and traffic of people and animals, you need to re – seal once a month anyway.
Window ledges inside (first) and outside (last) the home can have a line of salt run across them for extra protection.
If you live in a multi-level house or apartment, you need to start in your basement first. Always in doing rituals, stand and face in the Eastern direction first. You will be going counter- clockwise, but start your blessing ritual by smudging yourself .. Light a few of the leaves of white sage in your Abalone shell and GENTLY blow out the flame off the leaves until they just smoke, again begin facing Eastward, lift the smudge container to your face and take deep breaths of the smoking smudge into yourself. Next, lift the shell or bowl to the top of your head, pass it down your body to the floor, come back to the centre of your chest. Wave the smoke now, underneath your left arm coming back to centre of chest, now the right arm back to the chest. As you are doing this to yourself, say a prayer out loud asking for the Creator Heavenly Father to protect you from ALL evil and evil influences. Also, ask for the good and good only Ancestors (The ones whom have walked on this Earth Before you)to come and help you to rid your home from all evil influences or entities.
Also “ask” for all the good and good only Angels to come help you in this quest of Blessing and cleansing. Just a very important note here.. Angels cannot intervene unless “asked” in human life and destiny.
IMPORTANT NOTES: If there are other members/family members present, they also will need to be smudged before the ceremony begins. The Reason for being specific in asking for "Good Only" is if one does not do this.. you could end up with any number of NEGATIVE forces and entities just waiting for a doorway to be opened to come in and across.
