Recent Downtime
« on: August 27, 2017, 10:41:01 PM »
Seems we got caught out with some downtime folks. We apologise for the inconvenience but sometimes these things sneak up and pounce... So from this there is a lesson that applies to us all. How many times have you looked up and the sudden realisation hits that you missed something? How many times have you discovered something snuck right past and you have no idea of how. I had no idea the site had gone down for a few days and was only accidental I popped in and discovered this and fixed the issue.

So how does this become a lesson. Well I slipped up. I let life, time and circumstance get ahead of me (and not in a bad way either). I closed my eyes for a moment, and when I opened them, things had moved and i had not noticed. So to maintain something, even as simple as a website, we must remain alert and vigilant. This applies to life in general. When darkness, sadness and confusion enter our lives do we see them coming or do they seem to appear from nowhere. We always feel blindsided by those instances because sure as sunrise brightens the day, had we seen things coming, we would not have let them claim our lives...

So what do we do?

Well we stay awake and alert (no dont overload on caffeine). What I mean by this is we keep an eye and take a moment each day to pause, take a breath and count off what we need to be aware of. Keep your mind fresh by giving yourself space to reflect on the needs of yourself and those close to you. Never let yourself get snowballed be it by happiness or sadness so that you forget what is important. And if you do find things building on you, pause, take a breath, reassess and never be ashamed to ask for help or to own your error.

Maybe not a specifically indigenous lesson but a very human lesson for us all to remember...

Take care friends and my the ancestors walk alongside you.
