Grandma's Rocking Chair

Grandma's Rocking Chair

When days seem dark and dreary
and my heart's filled with care,
I close my eyes and go back home
To my Grandma's rocking chair.

There are no sweeter mem'ries
Than those that flood my mind
When I sit in Grandma's lap once more;
My cares I leave behind.

Yes, Grandma sang a song of promises
And of her Lord above,
She sang of hope and endless faith
And God's abiding love.
She sang about a cloudless day
In some sweet by and by,
And of Victory in Jesus
That no one can deny.

My Grandma always took the time
To dry each childhood tear.
Her arms open wide with joy
To draw her loved ones near.

She knew many hours of sorrow;
Her days were hard and long.
But she drew her strength from Jesus.
And He filled her heart with song.

Yes, Grandma sang of promises
And God's amazing grace.
When they ring those golden bells on high,
She'll march to claim her place.
When we gather at the river
Somewhere in Beulah land,
Just let me sit in Grandma's lap
And hold her Master's hand.
